Sound Grab is located in Toronto, Canada and is owned and operated by Jeffery Magat since 2005
I am a graduate of Full Sail University with an associate’s degree in Recording Arts and also have a diploma in Computer Systems and Networking from Centennial College in Toronto. After graduation from Full Sail University I began working in audio preservation and editing at The Cutting Corporation (now known as Graphic Audio, LLC) located in Bethesda, MD. During that time I also worked on corporate videos, documentaries and narrative films as a sound mixer and boom operator.
From my previous experience in audio and combining both fields from my education, I have not only been able to better understand various recording techniques but also how the latest computer and RF technologies play an important role when recording audio for the film and tv industry.
I have been in the film and television industry for 15+ years with thousands of hours of on-set experience. This includes over 150 corporate videos, commercials, documentaries and hundreds of narrative pieces consisting of feature films, TV series, web series, and short films. My previous work has aired on Bravo, CBC, Bell, Rogers, Discovery Channel, OMNI TV, Lifetime, Paramount Network, and screened across the globe at various international film festivals such as TIFF and SXSW.
Currently a member in NABET 700-M UNIFOR and have permitee status IATSE 873. I have level 3 certification in Audinate Dante Audio Networking and previous certification in Avid Pro Tools for Music and Post.
